We made it!

We landed in Bangkok around 6pm (7 am US time) and after going through customs and catching a cab to our hotel we have finally made it. We walked around the streets for a little bit, and ate some pad thai steet food. It was delliishhh. We are going to stay here for the next two nights and settle in. Tomorrow we plan on figuring out how to get a train down to Koh Samui where we will spend the majority of our trip. I took pictures of our room but cant upload them on these computers soo that will just have to wait. This is the hotel we are staying at http://www.newworldlodge.com/ in case you were wondering what it was like. The room seems fine, it has air conditioniong and a safe, but the moment we see the first bug there is definately going to be an argument over who has to deal with that situation. We need Ally here, she handles all the bug problems at tripdeck. Now that the traveling is over with it is time for the fun to begin. Im going to bed early so we can wake up and figure out our lives. goodnight!

Glencoe

Today we took a roadtrip to Glencoe which is the northern part of Scotland. We stopped for lunch at The Drovers Inn (http://www.thedroversinn.co.uk/) which is a pub/hotel built in the 1700's. haha lets just say they haven't done any renovations. Ash ordered the Haggis, she saved me a bite, it was interesting. The taste wasn't bad but the texture was a little weird, I didn't hate it....

Haggis and mashed potatoes

We drove another hour up to the top of the mountains and stopped in a little town for some food and shops, It reminded me of a ski town in Colorado, a lot of bikers/hikers and backpackers were stopping through. We stopped for fish and chips on the way back down and then headed home. The pictures don't really do it justice but, here are a few.

Night Out!

Last night was an eventful one in the West End. We started off at Firewater (http://www.firewater-livemusic.com/) with three of Ash's friends and then walked up the street to ABC (http://www.o2abcglasgow.co.uk/) to meet up with the rest of the group. We celebrated John's birthday and then taxied back to Ash's house. So many funny stories to long for the blog. Tonight were going to dinner with Ash's parents at Cafe Andaluz for tapas. (http://www.cafeandaluz.com/)... again with the food blogging.

Here are some pictures from our night out!

Time is flying by!

Yesterday was a little to busy for a blog update, we went into the city for the day and did a little shopping. We stopped at a pub called Waxy O'Connor's to see Ash's cousin and have an Irish Coffee. This summer blog is turning into a food blog, I feel like 80% of time here has been spent eating. surprise surprise. Later we went for dinner, and then saw Inception, which was way to complicated for my simple brain.
Today we went in to the West End of town for brunch, and now we are back at the house (waiting for B.C. to get online so we can skype)* and then napping before a night on the town tonight for Ash's friend John's birthday. Our roadtrip to St. Andrews was put on hold until tomorrow, but ill update with pictures once we get back.

having so much fun,
Morgan

Glasgow for the day!

Molly on the couch

Today we started off the day like any other by waking up late and going to Braehead Mall for the day (http://www.braehead.co.uk/)/ and later to Chiquitos for dinner (http://www.chiquito.co.uk/contents/Contact-Us.aspx).

We spent the night at Whetherspoons (http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/drink) which is a local pub. I got to meet some of Ash's friends (classics Legends of Trinity High School) and hear some highlights of their highschool careers. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for some of their classes. (A wee cheeky group). We Came back to Ash's and forgot the house keys, we woke up poor Edddie (Ash's Dad) to let us in. Molly (Ash's pup) was laying half dead on the couch. Friday is a trip to St. Andrews and with Ash's parents, here are some pics from the day, including a store called Henderson's (thought of you mom and dad).

loving Scotland,
Morgan

A Wee Visit to Edinburgh

We started off the morning by waking up at 6am to go on a painful run up the hills and through the valleys of the Scottish countryside, followed by some sprints through the neighborhood and a casual lift. But on a serious note, we slept in until 1 and then drove in to Edinburgh for the afternoon with Ash's friend Kim. Which is about 45 minutes from Ash's house in Glasgow. We walked around the Royal Mile, and took a tour of the underground city of Edinburgh which was haunted and a wee bit scary. We stopped for dinner at a local pub called the Villager. (http://www.villager-e.com/core/). I had a pear Cider called Kopparberg which was delishhh. Tomorrow is a full day of shopping and maybe a sampling of Haggis?

Here are some pics of the Royal Mile!
PS: Johnny if your reading this I got your kilt and sword today, your gonna love em'

Finally Made It!

The storm in the Philly airport. great weather to fly in. not scary at all
The food served on the plane. Terrifying.

I landed this morning, really early, around seven. And after a brief questioning from customs, (they asked me for Ash's address. which I did not have, then to see my ticket home, which I also did not have, and then he asked me for Ash's UK phone number. which I also did not have) great start to the morning. Scotland 1 Morgan 0 and its only the first day. But they let me through and I walked out to see Scotty laying on a chair half asleep. After a brief incident in the parking garage we were on our way. We went for brunch with Ash's parents at a restaurant called Oran Mor http://www.oran-mor.co.uk/ and then came back for a nap. Just spending the night in with the infamous Molly.

Molly wasnt cooperating for the photo shoot.
