Homeward Bound

Yesterday, instead of taking a 1hour ferry and then a 13 hour bus ride, We decided to fly from Koh Samui to Bangkok. Words can not describe how much more pleasant it was. I was near tears on the way down there a few weeks ago. I was begging the driver to turn the air on and he didnt speak english and just laughed in my face haha. Besides the lack of air conditioning it was so crammed, and it was so Longgggg.
The Koh Samui airport we flew out of was so nice, Ill upload pictures when im home, We left the Island around 9am and we got to Bangkok around noon yesterday and just relaxed at the rooftop pool.We are about to get a taxi back to the airport to head home. Cant wait to see my puppy! oh..and my family. Merry Christmas!

Safari

Sorry for the lack of blogging, I caught some like 48hour flu the last few days and havent done much. The weather was rainy the last few days sooo it kind of put a damper on the laying out/ tanning process. But today we went on a safari and rode jeeps through the countryside all around the island. Ais and I got to hold baby tigers and monkeys and ride elephants, which was so funny. Due to a lack of finances we decided to cut our trip a week early and we are heading back in a few days, (Maybe roadtrip to the Sugar bowl? any takers?) But tomorrow we are taking a boat over the Koh Pagnan which is about a 40 minute trip. We are going to the Full Moon Party there, it should be amazing. Here are a few pics from today, Ill post more when we get home!

First week in Thailand

Blogging has been slacking lately because we've been so busy being beach bums and enjoying our lovely beachside hotel. The first few days here were filled with exploring the other beach hotels, trying out the restaurants and the bars. We've met so many fun people since we got here, and today we went on a snorkeling and kayaking trip to a few different islands with some South African friends that are staying in the hut next to us. We got on a boat at 7:30 this morning and spent the entire day out on the water. The scenery was amazing and we had so much fun and got so sun burnt. We decided that we are going to stay on this island for the rest of trip. We just booked 15 nights at a hotel, we are planning on making some more day trips to the surrounding islands but keeping Koh Samui as out home base. We still have a bunch of stuff on our bucket list before we leave, we might see a Thai boxing match tonight, and cooking classes, and of course riding elephants. I have so many pictures but cant be bothered uploading them on these internet cafe computers. maybe on a day when the weather is bad. Having So much fun, someone is probably going to have to come retrieve us and drag us back to Ohio. Missing Everyone! xxx

Koh Samui bound

Today is our last day in Bangkok, we are checking out of our hotel at 12, going to to get massages and manicures, then getting on a bus for our 12 hour overnight ride to the island of Koh Samui. Bangkok has been fun to explore but its a little overwhelming and im ready to get to the beach.

Yesterday we explored Koah San road which is probably one of the most famous roads in Thailand, We also went to Chatuchak market which is about one square mile fillled with little huts selling everything you can imagion and so Cheap! There were also some sights to be seen. There was food being sold that I have absolutly no clue what it was, or what it came from or how someone would even go about eating it.

My pictures wont upload, but here is a little glimpse of what it was like, Its hard to describe how massive it really was. It was alot like a circus, there was a man who kept telling Ais that she had love sick eyes and that he wanted to take her to secret room so he could give her her fortune. haha we politely declined that offer.

We just booked three nights at the Montien House http://www.montienhouse.com/ if you want to see pictures. Ill blog when after we arrive, hopefully I can get my camera working!
xoxo

We made it!

We landed in Bangkok around 6pm (7 am US time) and after going through customs and catching a cab to our hotel we have finally made it. We walked around the streets for a little bit, and ate some pad thai steet food. It was delliishhh. We are going to stay here for the next two nights and settle in. Tomorrow we plan on figuring out how to get a train down to Koh Samui where we will spend the majority of our trip. I took pictures of our room but cant upload them on these computers soo that will just have to wait. This is the hotel we are staying at http://www.newworldlodge.com/ in case you were wondering what it was like. The room seems fine, it has air conditioniong and a safe, but the moment we see the first bug there is definately going to be an argument over who has to deal with that situation. We need Ally here, she handles all the bug problems at tripdeck. Now that the traveling is over with it is time for the fun to begin. Im going to bed early so we can wake up and figure out our lives. goodnight!

Aldo's!

We landed in New York and quickly realized it was going to be a trek to get to SoHo to see Keri and back to the airport by 6:30am. Sooo, we booked an airport hotel relaxed, and ran across the street to a little Italian restaurant that the lady at the front desk recommended. Aldos! Haha this restaurant could have been made into a tv show. Crazy italians. It was a slow night and the owner sat with us while we ate. (and kept shaking parmesan cheese on our pasta) followed by 'forgetttttt aboutttt it'. He then proceeded to call all the 21 year old italian boys he knew to come take us for a night in the city. He was such a character. Absolutely stopping by there again on our way home. We just arrived to our gate, and were ready to board. All stocked up on Nyquil and Tylenol PM. Wish us luck!

Andd were offffff...

I just finished my last textiles final at 7am this morning, it was 17 degrees outside and still dark when I was walking to class, so thats depressing. But in 48 hours we will be on the beach!

Our flight to JFK leaves in two hours. Still not done packing/ getting my life together. We are having dinner and spending the night with our friend Keri at her amazing apartment in SoHo and then back to the airport in the morning. First stop is a 17hr flight to Hong Kong (I plan to be heavily medicated), and then a 3 hour flight to Bangkok. Ill update whenever I can get internet just to let you know we are still alive. See you in January!! go bucks
