Road Trip: Part 2

after we hopped off the ferry we took our time and drove hammer springs, it took about 4 hours through the windy mountains, andrew thought he was a race car driver and it was one of the more terrifying experiences of my life, winding around corners, on the edge of cliffs, with no guard rail, people flying around us. i think i said" ohh no slow down" 100 times. but we made it! we stayed the night in hammer springs, and woke up at 6am to get to kai kura so we could be fishing by 9.

"that high street never looked so good"

 6am car ride

if you ever make your way to NZ, and want to go fishing. tomo is your guy.  he is a nz native, and owns kaikura fishing charters.  he took us out for a few hours, and besides me getting sea sick from the 10ft swells, it was really fun.  we came across a school of about a hundred dolphins swimming right up to our boat.

Tomo emptied his crayfish boxes and gave us a few to take home. (they are basically a lobster)

my fish: blue cod andrews: sea perch

the boys caught a bunch of sea perch, i stopped fishing because i was so nauseous.  then andrew caught a baby shark

we are back in wellington now, so nice to be home after a long three days.
