Napier

I'm sure that Napier is a grand place in the summer, maybe a sleepy little beach town. but considering it is winter here, it was the opposite of grand.  there was only one couple at our hostel besides us,  and despite it being a "best recommendation" on lonelyplanet. com and a few other sites, it did not live up to its promise.  the irish pub we went to on friday night had a total of 3 people in it, and the streets were empty.  we made the most of it, and entertained ourselves. but i can't say it is what i expected. bit of a disappointment for a 5 hour bus ride.

but there was a nice sunset...
